Mix your own smoothies for children

Your kids don’t want to eat green vegetables at all? The apple slices have become too boring too? How about a colorful smoothie? Best served with a glass straw to increase the fun factor! You can then put all the vitamin and mineral-rich ingredients in the children’s smoothie that your children would otherwise not find so tasty. From baby spinach to carrots to pumpkin – with the right feeling for quantities and different ingredients, your children will not even know exactly what is hidden in their smoothie. So let’s start with all the benefits that a homemade children’s smoothie brings with it:

  1. high quality
  2. organic quality no preservatives or additives
  3. fresh – no important nutrients are broken during the mixing process
  4. experiment freely
  5. Supply of vitamins for loss of appetite
  6. secret subjugation of healthy ingredients

Sweet base note in children’s smoothies

Children love it sweet. The base note of the children’s smoothie should therefore be sweet. Bananas, strawberries, melons, raspberries, pears, sweet apple varieties, pineapples, dates and mangoes are suitable for this. We recommend mixing a maximum of three types of vegetables and fruit. You can also add healthy seeds, nuts, grain milk, juice or dried fruits. It is better to mix fewer ingredients so that the sensitive child’s belly is not overwhelmed. If you use detoxifying ingredients like spirulina, you should start with a very small dose and gradually build on it. We have a list for you of vegetables that go great in a children’s smoothie:

  • Lamb’s lettuce
  • Cucumber
  • Carrots
  • Pumpkin
  • Broccoli
  • Kale
  • Baby spinach
  • Parsnip
  • Beetroot
  • Zucchini

Suitable dried fruits, seeds, nuts and liquids for a children’s smoothie:

  • Dried plums (have a slight laxative effect)
  • Dried apricots
  • Pitted dates
  • Goji berries
  • Chia seeds
  • Linseed
  • Oatmeal
  • Almonds
  • Brazil nuts
  • Cashews
  • Coconut water
  • Pure juice
  • Unsweetened grain milk such as oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, and soy milk
  • Pure, energized water

Healthy children’s smoothie recipes from Vegane Familien

The wonderful Carmen Hercegfi from Vegane Familien shared delicious children’s smoothie recipes with us! She is an expert on everything to do with balanced and vegan nutrition for children. Make sure to check out their website and get inspired! But first we want to introduce you to the delicious children’s smoothies. Everything we need to conjure up healthy and delicious children’s smoothies: a high-performance mixer that transforms the recipes into a creamy and seed-free consistency. Before putting the ingredients in the blender, wash everything well. The peel and kernels of apples and pears can be packed in the blender, because many important nutrients are also hidden here. Anyone who uses seeds should make sure that their child drinks enough after the smoothie because seeds soak up liquid. Carmen Hercegfi has created the following children’s smoothie recipes for you:
